Developing the Next Generation of Museums Professionals

Support Student Internships and Museum Learning Opportunities

Student internships and employment experiences are central to University Museums' educational mission. Through hands-on work in exhibitions, collections management, public programs, communications, and museum operations, students gain valuable professional experience while helping bring art and learning to the broader community.

Donor support provides paid internships and fellowship that prepare students for careers in museums, art, communications, and cultural organizations. More than 80 former student employees have gone on to professional careers in museums or related fields.

By supporting student opportunities at University Museums, donors help develop the next generation of museum professionals while advancing creativity, critical thinking, and engagement in the arts.

Not many museums give you the specific collections management and curation experience that University Museums does. Without my internships and fellowship, I would not have been prepared to be a full-time museum curator and collections manager. Not only would I not have gotten this job without University Museums, but I would not be prepared for it.
